Rio Gulf Coast Express Shuttle from Brownsville To get to South Padre Island, take the Rio Gulf Coast Express bus going to Port Isabel. At Las Palmas Plaza in Port Isabel, connect to The Wave, a free shuttle service that runs along the beach, stopping at hotels and attractions. The Wave operates from 7:00am to 7:00pm every day of the week, and leaves from Las Palmas Plaza at :21 and :51 minutes past the hour.
